Job Description: Registered Pharmacy Technician
Reports To: Manager, Pharmacy Operations
Position Overview
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing support in multiple areas of Pharmacy Operations to include; Dispense, Data Entry, Externals, and Quality Assurance as needed. The technician will transition to various roles as designated by the Manager of Pharmacy Operations. They will encourage communication with team members and promote effective working relationships to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently to meet customer needs.
Position Responsibilities
● Replenishes pharmacy robots with appropriate inventory by retrieving medications, changing canisters, and changing paper
● Uses various programs to run reports and manage the efficiency of robots and completion of daily orders in a timely manner
● Troubleshoot issues with pharmacy robots and workflow and escalate to the Fulfillment Supervisor when necessary
● Follows procedures outlined in the robot operating manuals
● Performs job duties within defined KPIs
● Manually feed medication packets through a pharmacy robot system; identify and correct potential quality issues
● Use a pharmacy imaging system to visually inspect each medication packet for size, shape, color, and medication name to ensure 100% accuracy before distribution ● Document, investigate, correct, and report quality errors to the appropriate team member and perform rework as needed
● Use multiple pharmacy computer programs and reporting systems to manage the quality process
● Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and capabilities
● Follow pharmacy best practices and company quality protocols
● Perform robot maintenance, cleaning, and basic mechanical troubleshooting
● Review and prioritize daily reports to determine prescription and bulk items to be selected ● Manually select prescription orders and bulk items accurately and efficiently
to complete cycle medication packages according to deadlines
● Print labels for daily quick-fill orders
● Match bulk items with correct cycle medication packages
● Assist Inventory Control with receiving and putting away new shipments. Notify appropriate staff when medications need to be ordered.
● Maintain a clean and organized workspace
● Maintains strict confidentiality according to HIPPA rules and
regulations
● Performs other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience
● High School diploma or GED
● Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician
Preferred Education and Experience
● Some pharmacy or work experience in a healthcare environment

Criminal background check and drug screen is required

Work Environment
This job operates in a production environment. This role routinely uses various pharmacy technology and standard office equipment such as scanners, pharmacy robots, Parata Pass Safe Loader System, Perl, Zendesk, Slack, and office computers. Employees will have some exposure to dust.

The employee is required to sit and stand for an 8-hour shift. The employee is required to occasionally, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (varies). Days and hours may change with notice.
