Pharmacy Technician Overview

Correct Rx is seeking a dependable and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team supporting pharmacy operations at the Holyoke Soldiers Home in Massachusetts. This position plays an important role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation, distribution, and management of medications within a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient care and operational excellence.

Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy or designee, the Pharmacy Technician will assist with medication distribution, inventory management, automated dispensing systems, medication preparation, and operational support activities to meet the pharmaceutical needs of the patient population.

Essential Responsibilities

· Assist with procurement, preparation, and distribution of medication orders

· Accurately enter medication charges and credits

· Rotate pharmacy stock and identify outdated or unusable medications

· Repackage bulk medications into unit-dose packaging safely and accurately

· Support inventory management and medication storage activities

· Demonstrate competency with automated dispensing equipment and pharmacy technology systems

· Maintain security and confidentiality of pharmacy systems and passwords

· Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives

· Complete monthly medication storage inspections and documentation requirements

· Maintain compliance with all pharmacy policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and safety requirements

· Support pharmacy workflow and operational continuity in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Current Pharmacy Technician registration as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

· Previous hospital, institutional, long-term care, or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred

· Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare team

· Knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling procedures

· Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities
