The Registered Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments, injuries, or movement dysfunctions. The role focuses on restoring mobility, reducing pain, preventing disability, and promoting overall physical well-being through evidence-based physiotherapy practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical conditions through examinations, medical history review, and functional testing
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and electrotherapy as appropriate
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and posture correction
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and safety protocols
- Participate in continuing education and professional development
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
- Valid registration/licensure with the relevant Physiotherapy Council or Regulatory Body
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Skills
- Experience in musculoskeletal, neurological, or sports rehabilitation
- Manual therapy certification (if applicable)
- Patient-focused and empathetic approach
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
- Hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, or sports facilities
- May involve standing for long periods and assisting patients with mobility
