Prime Label Consultants is looking for a Regulatory Consultant to join our team, providing technical expertise and client guidance for a broad range of label consulting services.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Review food and beverage labels for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Develop accurate, compliant labels, nutrition facts panels and ingredient statements
- Review specifications to evaluate product characteristics, ingredients and claims
- Review documentation to substantiate marketing and labeling claims
- Research and provide regulatory consultation on labeling inquiries
- Support business development of client needs into actionable and billable projects
- Create and maintain internal knowledge base of regulatory tools and resources
- Provide subject matter expertise on labeling, nutrition and marketing claims
- Track project and service metrics and identify trends and opportunities for PLC and clients
Other Responsibilities:
- Build strong client relationships that support growth and retention
- Entrepreneurism and innovation will be highly valued in this position
- Develop and lead trainings for webinars, conferences, and other events
The ideal candidate will have:
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics or related field
- Regulations expertise including Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and familiarity with Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
- Knowledge of claims and common certifications in food marketing and product labeling
Basic Qualifications:
- Five or more years of label compliance review experience
- Ability to recognize and generate deliverables in a consistent and quality-centric manner
- Ability to work independently without close supervision on a daily basis
- Ability to manage multiple tasks of varying complexity and meet deadlines
Benefits:
- Compensation Range: $60,000 to $95,000 annual salary dependent on experience with annual performance bonus

This is a remote position, however, candidates must maintain a quiet, professional home office environment suitable for frequent video conferencing and focused work. This opening is for either a full-time or part-time position, performed remotely with <15% domestic travel to client locations and/or PLC corporate headquarters in Washington DC. Occasional expectations to work beyond a normal eight hour day to meet project deadlines or business needs may exist.
Independent Contractor positions may be available as well.
