The rehab technician assists the therapy team (PT, OT, SLP, COTA) with resident care and administrative tasks. They work under the supervision of Director of Rehabilitation, helping residents recover from injuries or illnesses by assisting with exercises, using equipment, and maintaining treatment areas. They also handle administrative duties like scheduling insurance authorizations and record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Care:
Assisting with therapeutic exercises and activities.
Helping residents use assistive devices like walkers and wheelchairs.
Observing and reporting resident progress to the supervising therapist.
Providing basic resident care and support during therapy sessions.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintaining treatment areas, equipment, and supplies.
Obtain insurance authorizations.
Maintain filing and record keeping.
Interpersonal Skills:
Communicating effectively with residents and the therapy team.
Demonstrating empathy and patience when working with residents.
Following instructions from supervising therapists.
Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Nursing Aid (CNA)
Experience:
Experience in a long-term care setting.
Clerical work a plus
Physical Requirements:
The job may involve physical activity, including lifting and assisting residents.
