The Steel Fixer is responsible for placing, assembling, and securing steel reinforcement bars (rebar) used in concrete structures. This role ensures that reinforcement is installed accurately according to structural drawings and specifications to maintain the strength and integrity of concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret structural drawings, plans, and specifications
- Cut, bend, and shape steel bars to required dimensions using manual or powered tools
- Place and position steel reinforcement according to design requirements
- Tie and secure steel bars using wire and binding tools
- Ensure correct spacing, alignment, and anchoring of reinforcement
- Inspect installed reinforcement for compliance with quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with concrete workers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and safe condition
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE and fall protection
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a steel fixer, rebar installer, or in a related construction role preferred
- Ability to read and understand structural drawings
- Knowledge of reinforcement materials and tying techniques
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor

Physical Requirements
