Reinsurance Claims Processor/Analyst, Remote

Pro IS, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Claims Processor/Analyst. The successful candidate will support our clients with a variety of functions, some of which are listed below. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to work with multiple clients on different projects which could include auditing in addition to providing claims support. This employment position is full-time and will work remotely. You MUST have reinsurance experience; your application will not be considered without it. Knowledge of treaties/bordereau and understanding of contract language is required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Handling Property & Casualty claims from a reinsurance assumed and/or ceded perspective
  • Review client submissions to reinsurance contract terms for accuracy and confirmation of coverage, ensuring all required supporting documentation has been received.
  • Booking of claims (individually or bordereau reported) in the reinsurance claims system.
  • Ability to do detailed claims analysis, including reconciliation of inception-to-date claims balances and track aggregate deductibles and/or reinstatement premium calculations where applicable.
  • Run reports and analyze data to help manage your portfolio of claims.
  • Support the finance and accounting teams on data needs as requested.

Required Skills and Experience

  • College degree in business/accounting/related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1-2 years in reinsurance/insurance claims management, including processing, coverage confirmation and reporting and/or claims auditing experience required. Ceded reinsurance claims experience a strong plus!
  • Experience with allocating complex claims from ground up loss to multiple reinsurance contracts of a company’s reinsurance program on an inuring basis, both proportional and non-proportional
  • Interlocking clause experience on risk attaching basis losses a strong plus!
  • Ability to read and understand reinsurance contracts and apply the contract terms and conditions to submitted losses.
  • Basic accounting skills including ability to work proficiently in Excel, using formulas and other database management tools as needed.
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong communication & organizational skills
