Therapeutic WORKS Incorporated, a growing mental health nonprofit organization located in downtown Burlington, Vermont, is seeking a Reintegration Stabilization Community Support Specialist to provide intensive community-based services to individuals involved with the criminal legal system.
TWI provides trauma-informed, person-centered services to some of the community’s most vulnerable individuals. We believe every person deserves compassionate, respectful, and individualized support while navigating complex legal, behavioral health, and life challenges.
This position plays an essential role in supporting community stabilization, client engagement, safety planning, treatment coordination, and successful reintegration into the community.
Position Overview
The Reintegration Stabilization Community Support Specialist will:
- Provide therapeutic case management and community-based support services
- Manage and support community-based clients
- Assist in overseeing the Reintegration Stabilization Program (RSP)
- Coordinate care and connect clients with housing, treatment, recovery, and community resources
- Support transportation and advocacy needs when appropriate
- Collaborate with attorneys, treatment providers, DCF/FSD, probation/parole, and other community partners
For qualified candidates, additional opportunities may include:
- Completing screenings within Vermont correctional facilities
- Assisting with release planning and stabilization planning
- Expanding into clinical responsibilities
- Receiving clinical supervision toward licensure hours
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or related field
- Minimum of one year of case management or human services experience
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to work independently and professionally within community settings
Preferred
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or related field
- Experience working with individuals involved in the criminal legal system
- Experience supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Knowledge of Vermont community resources and behavioral health systems
- Ability to complete screenings within correctional facilities
- Clinical licensure or eligibility for licensure
Licensed clinicians or candidates who do not require clinical supervision may be eligible for a higher pay rate based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position (approximately 36 hours weekly)
- Four day work week

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary up to $58,000 - $66,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and licensure status

The onboarding schedule will include:
- Initial onboarding and orientation
- Daily check-ins with leadership staff
- Full shadowing and training alongside the Reintegration Stabilization team
