Relationship Manager

JOB PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:


As part of ADSI’s growth strategy, the firm is seeking a standout Relationship Manager to oversee and grow a portfolio of high-net-worth clients. This role involves delivering tailored investment advice and driving the team’s strategic objectives, particularly around Assets under Management (AuM) and Return on Assets (ROA). While the primary focus is the UAE market, there is scope to expand coverage across the wider GCC region and beyond.


Reporting to the Head of Wealth Management, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and performance of their client portfolio, with emphasis on increasing AuM and optimising ROA. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify, approach, and onboard potential high-net-worth clients.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients and prospects.
  • Deepen relationships with existing clients and expand share of wallet within the assigned region by cross-selling and up-selling available services and products.
  • Provide bespoke investment and wealth management solutions aligned with clients’ goals.

Client Advisory & Portfolio Oversight

  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews in coordination with the Investment team.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend strategic adjustments as required.
  • Execute investments and transactions on behalf of clients.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Support, mentor, and lead Assistant Relationship Managers and junior RMs in their performance and development.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and training initiatives.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee end-to-end client service processes including onboarding, KYC, documentation, trade execution, payments, and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records and database systems.
  • Input, monitor, maintain, and analyse data on IT platforms and provide relevant reports to management.

Business Strategy & Collaboration

  • Research and leverage emerging market trends to build competitive advantage and enhance ADSI’s brand presence in new locations within the assigned region.
  • Assist in defining and executing strategic business plans with the Head of Wealth Management and SEO.
  • Promote cross-selling of group services, including Asset Management, Asset Structuring, and Brokerage.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, compliance standards, AML regulations, and ADGM/UAE laws.
  • Liaise with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other control functions to ensure full regulatory alignment.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Represent the company at client and business partner meetings and industry events.
  • Collaborate with external service providers such as custodians, brokers, and legal advisors.
  • Coordinate with the Compliance team to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Work closely with the Investment team for product and sales support.
  • Partner with the Operations team to meet operational requirements.


COMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications such as CISI, CAIA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in private banking or wealth management.
  • Established network of HNWIs/UHNWIs (individuals, family offices, and asset managers), with a proven track record in acquiring, managing, and growing a high-value client book.
  • Strong and portable client book with Assets under Management (AuM) exceeding USD 150 million.
  • In-depth understanding of the needs and expectations of private banking and/or asset management clients.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales and business development targets, particularly related to AuM growth.
  • Solid knowledge of investment products, portfolio management, and financial markets.
  • Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders and adapt to new challenges.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within the UAE, particularly ADGM.
