This job will be performed remotely. It is a part-time position that will likely develop to full-time for the right employee. Candidate must be located in the Metro Detroit area. You will be required to meet in person for on-boarding, training, and equipment purposes.
Description of responsibilities:
· Monthly bookkeeping for clients in a variety of industries using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
· Process Live and After-the-Fact payroll for clients in a variety of industries.
· Process payroll tax payments + prepare and submit payroll tax returns (Form 941, 940, 1028, 5080, 5081, W3/W2, etc).
· Calculate and file sales tax returns for clients in a variety of industries.
· Organizing, compiling, and filing of sensitive digital documents.
· Utilizing a diverse tech stack, working towards proficiency in various software and applications.
· Various ad-hoc administrative and clerical duties as they arise.
Required skills:
· Organized with an impeccable attention to detail.
· Basic computer skills. Including experience using Windows operating system, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), and familiarity with cloud computing. History with QuickBooks or Adobe Acrobat a huge plus.
· Reliable and trustworthy. You will be privileged to sensitive information in this role and must pass a background & credit check.
· All hardware and software will be provided but you must have home high speed internet secured with a complex password.
· To be considered for this role you must fulfill at least two of the following requirements:
1. Experience Using QuickBooks Online or Desktop
2. Payroll Processing and Payroll Tax Payment/Reporting
3. Michigan Sales Tax Reporting
4. Degree in Accounting
5. Income Tax Preparation for Businesses
6. History in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
