Remote Architect / Architectural Technician (UK Residential Projects)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and fast-working Architect or Architectural Technician based in Egypt to support UK residential projects remotely. The ideal candidate will have solid experience producing UK planning and building regulation drawings, with a strong understanding of UK residential design, character, and planning expectations.

You will work closely with our UK team, producing high-quality drawing packages from a range of inputs including photos, PDFs, sketches, and existing CAD files.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce accurate architectural drawings from photos, PDFs, hand sketches, and existing DWG files.
• Create house extension proposals, loft conversions, and internal layout changes.
• Prepare elevations, floor plans, planning drawings, and full technical drawing packages.
• Amend and update existing CAD drawings quickly and accurately.
• Ensure all designs fit the character and style of UK residential properties and streetscapes.
• Prepare professional drawing packages suitable for planning applications, client presentations, and building regulations.
• Communicate effectively with the UK team and manage tasks within agreed timelines.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Strong AutoCAD skills with the ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Good technical architectural knowledge and experience producing residential drawings.
• Ability to interpret images, PDFs, and hand sketches into accurate architectural plans.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
• Reliable internet connection and availability during UK working hours.

Preferred

• Experience working on UK architectural schemes and planning applications.
• Understanding of UK planning regulations, permitted development rights, and building regulations.
• Experience designing extensions that match existing UK property character and streetscape.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Revit (bonus), or Photoshop (bonus).
