About the Role
GenSales Marketing Group is hiring experienced B2B Outbound Sales Development Representatives who excel at phone-heavy cold calling, prospecting, and appointment setting.
This role is for a true sales hunter: someone who enjoys reaching decision makers, asking strong discovery questions, navigating gatekeepers, and creating qualified sales opportunities for clients. The ideal candidate is self-managed, persistent, coachable, and genuinely invested in helping clients succeed.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position with guaranteed hourly pay plus uncapped bonuses for successful appointments. Top performers can expect consistent, ongoing work.
Important: This is an outbound sales prospecting role. It is not a customer service, inbound support, administrative, or account management position. Applicants must have proven experience making outbound B2B cold calls and setting qualified appointments.
Required Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of B2B outbound cold calling and appointment-setting experience.
This means direct, phone-based prospecting into businesses — not primarily customer service, inbound call center work, retail sales, email-only outreach, LinkedIn outreach, or account support.
Responsibilities
- Make daily outbound B2B cold calls with professionalism, confidence, and persistence
- Identify and reach business decision makers, including owners, C-level executives, VPs, directors, and managers
- Set and confirm qualified, date-and-time-specific appointments
- Navigate gatekeepers, phone trees, and automated systems to identify the correct contacts
- Qualify prospects by asking effective discovery questions and uncovering business needs
- Maintain accurate CRM records, call notes, outcomes, and next steps
- Manage your own schedule and complete committed calling hours
- Meet activity expectations and produce consistent weekly results
- Communicate clearly with internal team members and client stakeholders
- Stay open to coaching and ongoing improvement
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of successful B2B outbound cold calling experience
- Proven ability to set qualified appointments with business decision makers
- Hunter mentality: determined, creative, resilient, and goal-driven
- Strong phone presence with a clear, professional, and persuasive communication style
- Ability to work independently in a remote contractor environment
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Strong computer proficiency, including working across multiple applications and browser tabs at the same time
- Experience using cloud-based CRMs and dialing software
- Dedicated home office free from background noise and distractions
- Availability to work at least 25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, during U.S. business hours, morning availability strongly preferred

Qualifications
Required:
- U.S. citizen located in the United States
- Minimum 3 years of B2B outbound cold calling and appointment-setting experience
- Experience setting qualified appointments with C-level, VP-level, director-level, owner, or manager-level decision makers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and manage time effectively
- Strong computer proficiency is an absolute must
- Experience using cloud-based CRMs and dialing software
- Dedicated, quiet home office setup
Preferred:
- Experience with VanillaSoft, VS Connect, and/or Slack
- Previous B2B sales experience in commercial roofing, HVAC, solar, or related contractor industries
- Two or more monitors

Ideal Candidate Backgrounds
