Remote Criminal Defense Attorney

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team in a remote role. Individuals with prior experience as a prosecutor and private criminal defense attorney are preferred. This position requires a passion for criminal defense, a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and an unwavering commitment to providing excellent representation to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.

This is a remote position, with required in-person court appearances. The successful applicant will handle cases and cover hearings in Polk County and surrounding West-Central Florida counties, including but not limited to Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hardee. Reliable transportation is required. We offer a supportive environment, health insurance, and a competitive salary with performance-based bonuses.

1. Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in criminal proceedings from arrest through trial.
• Maintain communication with clients.
• Develop and implement defense strategies tailored to each client’s case.
• Conduct case intakes, case assessments, legal research, and draft motions.
• Handle hearings, conferences, and trials (must have reliable transportation).
• Stay current on relevant criminal law legislation and procedures.

2. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently, proactively managing case files and deadlines.
• Good attitude, willingness to cover hearings, and be a team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good rapport and relationship with opposing counsel and the judiciary.

3. Key Competencies

• Self-Starter: Ability to take initiative, make critical decisions with minimal supervision, and understand the steps to resolve a criminal case.
• Organized: Skilled at managing cases and caseload priorities effectively.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
