This is a small physical therapy practice that needs 10-12/hrs of week of phone coverage. Will want some morning and afternoon availability but you can dictate your own schedule as long as the work is completed.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly via multi-line phone systems and coordinate appointment scheduling using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, WebPT
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Manage patient intake by collecting accurate medical histories, updating demographic information, and reviewing documentation for completeness.
- Facilitate billing procedures including medical collection efforts, coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical billing to ensure timely payments.
- Maintain meticulous medical records and documentation review to comply with HIPAA regulations and ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with appointment rescheduling, cancellations, and reminders while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Support clinic operations by managing filing systems, handling correspondence, and performing clerical tasks such as typing reports and updating health information management records.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office environment or as a medical receptionist with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk duties.
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (including 10 key typing).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, Medicare regulations, and health information management standards.
- Ability to perform insurance verification accurately and handle medical billing processes effectively.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette for handling patient inquiries efficiently.
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is advantageous; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is a bonus.
