AmericanElectric is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead and grow our social presence across key digital platforms. This role will shape how our brand connects with customers, industry audiences, and the broader community through thoughtful content, strong storytelling, and consistent engagement.

 

The ideal candidate is both creative and strategic, with the ability to turn business goals into social media campaigns that build awareness, strengthen brand reputation, and support audience growth.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Develop and manage a social media strategy aligned with brand, marketing, and business objectives
  • Create, schedule, publish, and optimize content across social media channels
  • Build and maintain a consistent brand voice across all platforms
  • Plan and execute organic social campaigns that increase engagement, reach, and follower growth
  • Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and competitor activity to identify opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to promote company initiatives, campaigns, announcements, and events
  • Manage community engagement by responding to comments, messages, and audience interactions in a timely and professional manner
  • Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, and other stakeholders to produce high-quality visual and written content
  • Support brand reputation by monitoring social conversations and escalating sensitive issues when needed

Required Qualifications

 

  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, company, or organization
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to tone and detail
  • Understanding of major social media platforms, content formats, and engagement best practices
  • Experience using social media management, scheduling, and analytics tools
  • Ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into action
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and working with a variety of stakeholders
  • Creative thinking paired with sound judgment and professionalism

 

Nice to Have

 

  • Experience supporting social media for a corporate, industrial, energy, utilities, or technology-related brand
  • Familiarity with paid social campaigns and social advertising
  • Basic graphic design, video editing, or content production skills
  • Experience with brand reputation monitoring or social listening tools
  • Knowledge of content strategy, campaign planning, and editorial calendars
