Job Overview

Essmann's Cabinetry and Millwork specialises in high-quality custom cabinetry, furniture, and wood moldings for a diverse range of clients, including corporate and church settings. We are committed to exceptional craftsmanship and tailored solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated Remote Software Engineer to join our team on a Full-Time basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the software solutions that support our bespoke manufacturing processes and enhance our client experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an innovative engineer to make a significant impact within a growing and respected organisation.

Responsibilities
 

  • Design, develop, and implement custom software applications to streamline internal processes, including order management, inventory control, and production scheduling.
  • Build and maintain client-facing web applications and tools to showcase our products and facilitate customer orders.
  • Collaborate with our design and production teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.
  • Integrate our systems with third-party software, such as CAD/CAM tools and accounting platforms.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code across the full technology stack.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to deployment and support.

Qualifications
 

  • Proven professional experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with both front-end and back-end development frameworks and technologies.
  • Solid understanding of database design and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • A proactive and independent work ethic, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience with software for manufacturing, e-commerce, or CRM/ERP systems would be considered an asset.
