Overview

The Bureau by D.O.E. and SLP Tax Service are seeking motivated individuals to join our Remote Tax Preparer Trainee Program for the upcoming Tax Season 2027.

Whether you're new to tax preparation or looking to expand your financial services skills, this opportunity provides training, onboarding, and team support to help you build a successful career in the tax industry.

No experience is required. PTIN training and onboarding support are included.

This position is ideal for individuals interested in tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, financial services, and business development.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with tax preparation under supervision
• Learn federal and state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Prepare individual tax returns and basic business returns
• Utilize professional tax software and financial tools
• Participate in PTIN training and onboarding programs
• Communicate professionally with clients and team members
• Maintain accurate records and client documentation
• Support clients throughout the tax preparation process
• Complete assigned training and continuing education activities

Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Reliable internet connection
• Professional attitude and willingness to follow compliance standards

Preferred But Not Required

• Prior tax preparation experience
• Bookkeeping experience
• QuickBooks familiarity
• Customer service experience
• Financial services background

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, production, and role assignment.
