Position Overview

Solqar Energy is seeking an elite Renewable Energy Director to lead our strategic expansion and technical operations from our executive suite in Al Dafna’s Diplomatic Area. As Qatar accelerates its transition toward a diversified energy mix, you will be the primary architect responsible for the design, procurement, and execution of large-scale solar and sustainable energy projects across the region.

The ideal candidate is a "clean-tech" visionary who balances high-level engineering mastery with the executive acumen to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and international investment landscapes. You will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure Solqar Energy remains the premier partner for Qatar’s green transformation.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Roadmap: Design and execute a 5-year renewable energy strategy that aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and global sustainability benchmarks.
• Project Lifecycle Oversight: Direct all phases of utility-scale solar installations and hybrid energy systems, from initial site feasibility and grid-impact studies to final commissioning.
• Technical Governance: Oversee the engineering department’s output, ensuring 100% adherence to international electrical standards, PV system optimization, and structural integrity.
• Systems Integration: Lead the deployment of smart-grid technologies and ensure seamless data flow into enterprise platforms like Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) for asset management.
• Data-Driven Leadership: Utilize advanced Excel automation (macros, XLOOKUP) and PVsyst modeling tools to monitor energy yield, performance ratios (PR), and project ROI.
• Stakeholder & Regulatory Affairs: Act as the primary technical liaison with KAHRAMAA, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, and international technology partners.
• Team Mentorship: Recruit, scale, and mentor a world-class team of renewable energy engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of authenticity and technical mastery.
• Budgetary Management: Total oversight of the department’s CapEx and OpEx, ensuring maximum efficiency in procurement and resource allocation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) status is highly preferred.
• Experience: 12+ years of professional experience in the energy sector, with at least 6 years in a directorial or senior management role specifically within renewable energy.
• Technical Mastery: Expert-level understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power purchase agreements (PPAs).
• Language: Professional fluency in English is mandatory. Arabic proficiency is a significant advantage for high-level government relations in Al Dafna.
• Regional Insight: Proven track record of delivering energy projects within the GCC, including familiarity with local environmental conditions and grid codes.
• Mindset: A "work-hard, play-hard" philosophy—someone who values professional excellence as the primary funding mechanism for global travel and personal exploration.
