At our Maiden location, we specialize in equipment rentals only — offering a wide range of construction tools, heavy machinery, generators, lifts, compressors, trenchers, landscaping equipment, and more to help get any job done right!

Job Summary

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable Rental Counter Associate to be the go-to person for our customers at the Maiden branch. You’ll work the rental counter, assist walk-in customers, handle phone reservations and inquiries, process rentals, and support showroom organization and inventory tasks. This is a hands-on, customer-focused role in a busy equipment rental environment where your help directly impacts contractors and projects every day.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers at the counter, helping them select the right equipment for their construction, landscaping, or project needs.
  • Answer phone calls, check equipment availability, provide rates and details, and process reservations or rentals.
  • Prepare rental agreements, collect payments/deposits, handle returns, and complete transactions accurately using our rental software (full training provided).
  • Recommend additional tools, accessories, or related equipment to meet customer requirements and support sales.
  • Keep the showroom clean, organized, and appealing by arranging displays, restocking small items, and ensuring equipment looks professional.
  • Assist with inventory management: inspect returned equipment for damage, clean and prepare items for re-rental, tag ready equipment, and report any needed repairs.
  • Provide customers with basic safety information and usage guidance for rented equipment.
  • Address customer questions or concerns quickly to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Work as part of a small team to keep the Maiden location running smoothly during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills for calculating rental fees, deposits, and payments. Willing and able to learn rental management/Point-of-Sale software (we train you!).
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and move equipment in the showroom or yard as needed.
  • Reliable, punctual, with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
