Report Writer - Job Analyst

Immediate vacancy due to a promotion - reporting to the Director of Information Technologies – within a well-established, stable, service organization in Macon, Georgia. Responsible for:

· Interpreting & communicating complex data into actionable reports that support leadership’s informed decision-making

· Evaluating the purpose & content of various business reports to develop new or enhance the format, use and/or control of standardized reports [65%]

· Serving as a liaison between end users & software providers

Responsibilities:

· Initial project will be confirming data integrity between multiple data sets

· Report writing & presenting findings in a useful format to the leadership team – primarily diagrams & charts in Excel

· Utilizing data mining to extract information from various datasets & identify patterns

· Defining & documenting system scope, technical requirements & proposed logical view using structure design & analysis techniques

· Designing & optimizing test plans for unit, integration & user acceptance tests

· Creating & maintaining documentation for future use including system issues & their resolutions

· Assisting end users with functional applications, problem resolution, training & support – as needed

Education or Experience Requirements:

· Minimum of four years’ experience in application management - report writing experience in a department other than IT is acceptable

· Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study

Knowledge Requirements & Preferences:

· Ability to edit existing & create new reports, queries & portal statistics

· Through knowledge of & experience using relational database architecture, Structured Query Language (SQL), PL/SQL & XML

· Familiarity with metadata, data organization, data quality assessment & data profiling

· Familiarity with accounting practices & reporting as position works closely with the CFO – 80% of reports are financial & 20% operational

· Willingness to thoroughly understand users’ needs

· Knowledge of Cognos & Crystal reporting & query tools – a plus

· Knowledge of Java script & shell scripting – a plus

Compensation, Benefit & Relocation Package:

· $73,000 – 75,000 starting base salary dependent upon experience
