We seek a Part time general assignment reporter to cover the Tuscola, Arcola and Villa Grove areas.
Assignments will include city council, school board, business, and community events.

Responsibilities:
Pitch, edit and write multiple news stories each week
Conduct interviews in-person and over the phone
Supplement stories with photos
Work under deadline
Synthesis material from multiple sources
Shift work hours to attend weekend or after-work events
Represent the newspaper in a professional manner

A journalism degree and some experience is preferred, but not required. Any candidate with excellent writing and photography skills is encouraged to apply.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
