Repossession Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Repossession Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for locating, securing, and recovering assets related to delinquent accounts, ensuring compliance with all legal and company policies. Duties

• Locate and recover vehicles or assets tied to overdue accounts through investigative techniques and field visits
• Communicate effectively with customers, lenders, and law enforcement to coordinate repossession activities
• Maintain detailed records of all repossession activities, including documentation of asset status and recovery procedures
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies during the repossession process
• Negotiate with customers in a professional manner to facilitate asset recovery while preserving customer relationships
• Conduct thorough account analysis to determine the best approach for each repossession case
• Prepare comprehensive reports on each recovery effort, including challenges encountered and resolution steps

Requirements

• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, account reconciliation, accounts receivable/payable, and revenue cycle management
• Excellent phone etiquette combined with superior customer service skills to handle sensitive situations tactfully
• Knowledge of accounting software and financial software systems for tracking and reporting purposes
• Ability to apply negotiation techniques effectively in high-pressure situations
• Basic math skills essential for account analysis and reconciliation tasks
• Familiarity with legal procedures related to asset repossession and compliance standards
