Representative Payeeship Caseworker

Job Overview
To provide financial management to the most vulnerable in our community who cannot manage their monthly finances and/or are at risk of exploitation from family and/or friends. Casework and money management for individuals with disabilities who cannot manage their finances. Ensure that basic shelter, food and clothing needs are met, and that appropriate benefits are accessed, thus providing stability to those who are vulnerable to exploitation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties that are assigned:

  • Advocate for client.
  • Able to maintain a fiduciary role for the client and manage all financial aspects of a client’s SSI/SSDI benefit.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals and/or families facing hardship and/or complex issues.
  • The position requires an ability to work with vulnerable populations. The position requires use of good judgement, objectivity, dependability, and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate commitment to strengths-based approaches in service delivery, principles of self-determination and person-centered planning with clients.
  • Document client activity in a timely manner, ensure that all program-reporting requirements are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Use excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solve client cases while utilizing internal and/external referral resources.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including producing clear, concise reports. Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and engagement skills with a challenging population.

_ Qualification Requirements: _

  • Successful completion of background check according to ORC
  • Work up to a 7.50 hour day
  • Follow Representative Payeeship Services Program and Social Security Administration policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted
  • Training and/or experience with mental health population
  • Proficient with Excel, Word and electronic management databases

_ Education and/or Experience:_

  • Associate’s degree in Social Work, or a related field, or two years’ experience preferably in the human services or behavioral health field. Bilingual is a plus
  • A high level of computer expertise in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
