Lead and manage all yard fabrication activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.
Develop and implement fabrication schedules, work plans, and resource allocation strategies to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Supervise and mentor a team of supervisors, foremen, and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and performance.
Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure seamless integration of fabrication with overall project execution.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, etc.).
Conduct regular audits and inspections of fabrication processes, materials, and workmanship to maintain compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
Manage procurement and inventory of fabrication materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability and cost-effectiveness.
Resolve technical issues and production bottlenecks promptly, minimizing delays and rework.
Prepare and present performance reports, KPIs, and operational updates to senior management on a regular basis.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CFA, or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
5–10 years of progressive experience in yard fabrication or industrial fabrication management within heavy engineering, oil & gas, power, or industrial infrastructure sectors.
Proven track record of managing large-scale fabrication projects, with demonstrated success in meeting deadlines, controlling costs, and maintaining high-quality standards.
In-depth knowledge of welding standards (ASME, AWS, ISO), material specifications, and fabrication processes (cutting, forming, assembly, NDT).
Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in developing and leading multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6), ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with frequent on-site presence at the Hazira facility.
Ability to travel as required and work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, to meet project demands.
