Research Analyst
Location: Kochi
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver classroom sessions on financial markets, equity research, valuation, and applied economics.
· Simplify complex financial concepts for students through practical examples and case discussions.
· Conduct hands-on training in Excel modelling, company analysis, ratio interpretation, and valuation techniques.
· Prepare and update teaching materials—slides, assignments, quizzes, case studies, and projects.
· Mentor students individually on research reports, financial models, and internship projects.
· Guide learners for certification exams (especially NISM Research Analyst).
· Evaluate student performance through tests, viva, and practical assessments.
· Support placement activities by conducting interview prep, resume reviews, and mock tests.
· Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum design, and academic planning.
- Conduct in-depth research on companies (listed/unlisted), industries, macro-economic trends, and markets.
- Analyse financial statements, prepare financial models (e.g., revenue forecasts, P&L, balance sheet, cash flows), valuation models (DCF, multiples).
- Track and interpret macro-economic indicators, industry drivers, regulatory developments and their impact on markets/segments.
- Prepare research reports, investment/strategy notes, and presentations for internal/external audiences (students, clients, stakeholders).
- Assist in the creation/updating of course content, case-studies, reading material (if role also involves training/mentorship).
- Present findings to internal teams and possibly conduct workshops/seminars (if the role merges with faculty/training responsibilities).
- Work closely with mentors and senior analysts to support internship programmes and training delivery.
- Maintain/integrate data-sources, market-databases; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of research output.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration or equivalent. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, NISM Research Analyst) is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in financial statement analysis, modelling, valuations, and industry research. (See general equity-research skill-set described by industry sources.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to synthesise large amounts of data into clear insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (for preparing reports, presenting insights, guiding learners).
- Comfortable working with Excel/spreadsheets, financial databases (e.g., CMIE, Bloomberg, Reuters, etc) or able to learn.
- Ability to manage deadlines, multitask across research/training work, adapt to a dynamic education/training environment.
- Passion for financial markets and training/mentoring others (since HS AE has a strong training component).
