Research Analyst Intern

Role Overview

The Research Analyst will conduct in-depth research and analysis across startups, markets, industries, financial trends, competitors, and investment landscapes. The role involves leveraging research tools (including AI tools such as ChatGPT), synthesizing findings, building structured reports, financial models, and creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations for founders, investors, and internal strategy discussions.

This role requires strong business acumen, financial understanding, and exceptional presentation skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesResearch & Analysis

• Conduct deep-dive research on startups, industries, market trends, and competitive landscapes
• Analyze business models, revenue streams, unit economics, and growth strategies
• Research funding rounds, valuation benchmarks, investor activity, and financial performance metrics
• Use AI-powered research tools (e.g., ChatGPT) alongside traditional sources to enhance efficiency and depth
• Validate data from credible sources and ensure high-quality outputs

Financial & Strategic Support

• Assist in building financial models in Excel (forecasting, projections, scenario analysis)
• Support due diligence research for investment and advisory mandates
• Develop market sizing analyses (TAM, SAM, SOM)
• Prepare benchmarking and comparative analyses

Presentation & Reporting

• Create investor-ready pitch decks and strategic presentations in PowerPoint
• Convert research findings into executive summaries and structured reports
• Develop clear, visually compelling slides tailored to founders, CXOs, and investors

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in research, consulting, investment banking, startup ecosystem, or financial analysis (preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint (executive-level slide design and storytelling)
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) for structured research and synthesis
• Strong understanding of financial statements and startup metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems and deliver actionable insights
• High attention to detail and strong time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with startups, VCs, PE firms, or consulting firms
• Experience building financial projections for early-stage companies
• Familiarity with valuation methodologies (DCF, comparables, etc.)
• Exposure to pitch deck creation and fundraising processes
