Research Analyst(Health Care)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and maintain expert knowledge on healthcare operations including authorizations, claims, and policies to support Utilization Management and Medical Affairs.


Conduct data analysis and research to evaluate potential changes in medical policies, claims payments, pre-certification lists, and related areas.


Design and maintain nurse staffing models to support the client//'s Utilization Management team.


Create presentations and analytical reports using clinical, survey, or administrative data for internal and client-facing projects.


Interpret and summarize analytical findings, delivering clear and actionable insights to stakeholders.


Provide ad hoc reporting and analytics support based on business needs.



Primary Skills:



Strong analytical background with minimum 2 years of experience in a data-driven or analytical environment.


Advanced SQL and/or R programming skills for data extraction, transformation, and validation.


Proficiency in handling healthcare data such as claims and authorizations.


Experience in building data models and performing quality assurance checks.



Secondary Skills:



Working knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau for dashboard creation and reporting.


Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and chart creation.


Strong project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.


Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and work effectively with cross-functional teams.



Good to Have Skills:



Experience or academic background in healthcare, public health, business, statistics, or related fields.


Understanding of clinical data, medical coding, or healthcare regulations.


Exposure to predictive analytics, machine learning, or statistical modeling in a healthcare context.


Familiarity with survey design and analysis.
