Research And Development Manager (NSP)
Responsibilities
- Budgets and Plans: Contribute to the preparation of the R&D section budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
- Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
- Day-to-day Operations: Supervises the day-to-day operations of R&D to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
- Supervision of Subordinates: Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of R&D activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
- Lead the Continuous Improvement Program within the company: 5s, Lean manufacturing
- Initiate and Active involvement in new product development (NPD)
- Lead the continuous improvement of the existing products (EPD) in relation to Marketing, Purchasing department.
- Update and maintain the documentation of the products: Specifications for Raw Material, Semi-Processed Material, Packaging Material and Finished Products, Recipes.
- Assist in Maintenance of Food Safety and Hygiene Standards as per the Laws and Regulations that Applies to all Products and our entire region.
- Follow-up of new launched product for at least Six Months after the Launch
- Observe, analyze and report to get knowledge of the product from different competitors.
- Report on the KPI performance and propose actions to improve the results.
- In relation to authorities, customers, and suppliers when required.
- Ensure compliance of rules& regulations for Import, Export, and local sales for current (if changes) and new products.
- Ensure respect of the working and SHEQ policy
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet Savola and R&D department requirements, policies and standards.
- Health, Safety, & Environment: Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Related Assignments: Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
