Research Assistant

Overview

The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting a funded research project focused on understanding the effects of microplastics on soil health, greenhouse gas emissions, and plant performance under arid UAE conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with greenhouse and field experiments, including soil preparation, treatment application (microplastics, biochar, and compost), crop establishment (Moringa and Quinoa), and systematic sampling of soil and plant materials.
• Support measurements of plant growth parameters, soil physicochemical properties, and basic physiological and biochemical indicators.
• Assist in laboratory work related to soil and plant analyses, greenhouse gas sampling, and routine data collection.
• Maintain experimental records, assist with data entry and preliminary statistical analysis, and support the preparation of progress reports and scientific outputs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (PhD preferred).
• Strong background in soil-plant interactions, greenhouse gas sampling, or related agricultural research.
• Experience with greenhouse or field experiment setup and data management.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Salary

Expected Salary Range: 7000 UAE Dirhams (per month).
