Job Title: Research Assistant – Medical Education & Educational Innovation Department: Medical Education – Reports to: Principal Investigator Employment Type: Full-time Position Summary The Research Assistant (RA) will support multiple research and innovation projects within the Department of Medical Education. The role involves coordination and execution of qualitative and quantitative research studies, including projects related to Virtual Reality (VR) applications in medical education, curriculum innovation, learning environment studies, and digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong research methodology skills, technological competence, and exceptional time management and task execution abilities. Key Responsibilities 1. Research Design & Implementation • Assist in the design, planning, and execution of medical education research projects. • Support development of study protocols, ethics submissions, and grant applications. • Conduct literature reviews using databases (PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science). • Develop data collection tools (surveys, interview guides, VR usability tools). • Manage data collection (online surveys, REDCap, LMS analytics, VR data logs). 2. Quantitative Research • Perform statistical analysis using SPSS, R, Stata, or similar software. • Assist in survey validation (CVI, reliability testing, factor analysis). • Conduct descriptive and inferential statistics. • Prepare tables, graphs, and reports suitable for publication. 3. Qualitative Research • Conduct interviews and focus groups. • Perform transcription, coding, and thematic analysis (NVivo, Dedoose, Atlas.ti). • Develop coding frameworks and thematic maps. • Contribute to mixed-methods integration. 4. Educational Technology & VR Projects • Support implementation and evaluation of VR-based learning interventions. • Coordinate with IT teams and simulation labs. • Collect usability and learning outcome data related to VR tools. • Assist in technology testing, troubleshooting, and user training. • Analyze learning analytics data. 5. Project Management & Task Execution • Track project timelines and milestones. • Maintain progress reports for multiple concurrent projects. • Coordinate meetings, documentation, and follow-ups. • Ensure deadlines are met without repeated supervision. • Maintain organized digital documentation systems. 6. Manuscript & Dissemination Support • Draft manuscript sections (methods, results). • Prepare conference abstracts and posters. • Manage reference software (EndNote, Zotero). • Assist in journal submissions and revisions.

Minimum Qualification

• MD, MBBS, MSc, MPH, or equivalent degree in Medicine, Health Sciences, Education, or related scientific field. • Demonstrated experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. • Experience working in medical education or healthcare research.

Preferred Qualification

Preferred Qualifications • Prior publication in peer-reviewed journals. • Experience in grant-funded research projects. • Experience in digital health, AI, or immersive learning technologies. • Background in curriculum evaluation or learning environment research.

Expected Skills

Required Skills & Competencies Research Skills • Strong understanding of research methodology. • Experience with survey validation and instrument development. • Mixed-methods research experience preferred. Technical & Digital Competence • Proficiency in statistical software (Stata, or equivalent). • Experience with qualitative analysis software. • Familiarity with VR/AR technologies or educational simulation preferred. • Experience with REDCap, LMS platforms, or digital dashboards is an advantage. Organizational & Professional Skills • Excellent time management and prioritization skills. • Strong task execution with minimal supervision. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • High level of accountability and attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; Arabic preferred). Salary Range

6000 - 7000 based on Qualification and Experience
