Position Title Research Assistant for Chemistry Laboratory Requisition Number H00151P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week Months per year Alternate work schedule Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $ 11.75 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function
Conduct scientific experiments in a chemistry laboratory; perform extractions and analysis; operate HPLC, GC, and NMR instruments; analyze data and prepare reports as directed by the laboratory director. Review published scientific literature and prepare written reviews of existing publications.
Successful completion of at least two years of university-level chemistry, including freshman chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and instrumental chemistry. Knowledge of biology and biochemistry also helpful.
Preferred Qualifications
Spreadsheet (MS Excel preferred) and word processing; laboratory software, computer-instrument interfacing & control knowledge/experience.

This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
