Research Assistant (part-time) - Oldroyd Lab
The Oldroyd Lab at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is seeking a reliable and organized individual to fill a part-time Research Assistant position. This role is expected to support the lab for 8 hours per week, with a regular schedule of 4 hours on Monday and 4 hours on Wednesday. The primary focus of this position is to assist with routine laboratory support tasks that are essential for maintaining day-to-day research operations.
Responsibilities:
- Cleaning laboratory materials, glassware, and other items generated from routine media preparation and experiments
- Washing and sterilizing laboratory supplies and equipment
- Supporting general laboratory upkeep to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Preparing media and stock solutions needed for experiments on an occasional basis
- Assisting with other routine laboratory support tasks as needed
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to carry out routine tasks carefully and consistently
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly laboratory workspace
- Experience with sterile technique or laboratory media preparation is preferred but not required
- An interest in laboratory research or plant science is preferred but not required

Qualifications:
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred, but students or trainees with relevant coursework in biology, chemistry, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
