JOB POSITION: Part-Time Research Associate

DEPARTMENT: College of Science

DATE Available: Immediately

SUMMARY: Currently we are searching for one Part-Time Research Associate to work in the following project:

• Developing High Precision Numerical Methods for Kerr Black Hole Perturbation Theory, College of Science, under the supervision of Dr. Sujoy Modak, Principal Investigator.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

The part-time research associate will collaborate with the PI in developing numerical codes to analyze the effect of spin of Kerr black hole on the spherical-spheroidal decomposition of angular Teukolski equation and its effect on the quasi-normal mode spectrum for the high spin region.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have a bachelor's degree in physics and Astronomy with research experience.
• Must be familiar with General Relativity and Black Hole Physics
• Must have both analytical and computational skills

PREFERRED

• Work experience is preferred.
