We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our Discovery Chemistry Department as a Research Associate and work as part of a team to drive success. The successful candidate will support ongoing RNA-based drug discovery projects in several therapeutic areas. This role will be expected to be an active participant and participate in experimental design and planning.
Essential Responsibilities:

Carry out assigned laboratory functions applying knowledge and skill in an accurate, timely manner.

Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with critical collaborative partners throughout the company.

Synthesis, characterization, and purification of novel oligonucleotide conjugates
-
Identify critical issues/steps in conjugation and solve problems in a timely fashion.

Development and optimization of conjugation protocols using novel chemistries and techniques.
-
Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates, and communicate progress and issues to management.

Manage and maintain equipment, reagents and dedicated laboratory environment needed to carry out assignments; Troubleshoot and solve equipment/technical problems.

Maintain updated and well-organized lab notebooks.

Execute daily laboratory operations with an approach designed to minimize risks and hazard waste streams.

Maintain all appropriate corporate standards for facility safety and hazardous material management.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

BS or MS in Chemistry or a related discipline with excellent understanding of organic and analytical chemistry.

Previous experience working in an organic synthesis, chemistry or analytical laboratory is preferred.

Good working knowledge with a wide range of analytical techniques, especially RP-HPLC and LC-MS.

Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite Products.
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry a plus.

Previous experience with RNA/oligonucleotide therapeutics is preferred but not essential.

Compensation: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual target bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, type and length of experience within the industry, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
