Research Associate I - Molecular Biology

We are seeking an entry-level Research Associate for our Molecular Biology department. The successful candidate will work with a team dedicated to sequencing, gene and vector synthesis, and recombinant expression. Responsibilities include reagent and media formulation, plasmid preparation, RT-PCR for sequencing, mammalian cell transfection, and recombinant antibody production. Responsibilities

• Execute molecular biology procedures with a high degree of care, skill, and foresight.
• Document the work performed in work instructions and data reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Work independently and prioritize daily tasks for multiple ongoing projects.
• Communicate proactively with other members of the laboratory and project managers.
• Be a supportive team member in a dynamic R&D environment.
• Assist with calibration, monitoring, and maintenance of instruments.

Qualifications

· A Bachelor's degree in a biology-related field, such as Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc. (Required).

· US work authorization (Required).

· Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., media preparation, centrifugation, reagent dilution, cell culture, etc.).

· Typically, 0-2 years of industry experience in Molecular Biology.

· Ability to culture mammalian cells aseptically.

· Ability to multitask with strong attention to detail.

· Self-motivated and flexible with a strong work ethic.

· Good oral and written communication skills.

· Enjoys “hands-on” laboratory work.

Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a laboratory bench. May require occasional lifting of items approx. 25-30 lbs. Work must be performed at our worksite in Santa Clara, CA 95054. You must be available to work in the immediate future. You must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work. This position does not qualify for reimbursement of relocation expenses.

About the Job:

This is a full-time position, typically 40 hrs/week, M-F, within the hours of 8 am-6 pm with occasional weekday overtime or weekend work. You will report to the department supervisor.

Compensation:

Antibody Solutions offers a competitive salary with overtime. Personnel are evaluated after 3 months of employment and on a yearly basis. Benefits include:
