We're currently seeking a skilled Chemist to lead a specialised R&D project focused on organic coatings for glass and dielectric materials, using physical vapour deposition and alkali metals. This hands-on role will introduce new expertise into our multidisciplinary team, contributing directly to the future of quantum technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct controlled filling and sealing of alkali vapour cells
• Test, troubleshoot and optimise cell-filling procedures
• Formulate and apply surface treatments to glass and dielectric surfaces
• Develop and apply physical or chemical vapour deposition methods
• Maintain high standards in lab cleanliness and documentation
• Collaborate across technical disciplines to support advanced product development
• Create SOPs to ensure safety and precision in all lab operations

About You:

You're a motivated chemist with a passion for precision and innovation. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring deep knowledge of surface chemistry and organic coatings, especially in high-purity or vacuum-based systems.

• PhD or Master's in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field
• Proven record of self-directed lab research
• Strong background in surface coatings, organic materials, or chemical processing
• Experience handling glass, vacuum sealing, or alkali metals (highly regarded)
• Familiarity with vapour deposition techniques and clean lab environments
