The Cleveland VA Medical Research & Education Foundation is a not-for-profit education partner of the Cleveland VA Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University with a mission to provide the finest quality service to our veterans and to advance the success of VA Research.
Position Summary
Working under general supervision, will provide administrative support for research within the department. The coordinator will provide essential administrative and operational support to research projects and serve as the primary contact for research participants. Coordinates activities within the research team and ensures efficient communication across the team and with subjects enrolled in research studies in accordance with study protocols. Assists and collaborates with Research department leadership in the development of study protocols, standard operating procedures, project plans, and study budgets. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The Cleveland VA and the Medical Research Foundation.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
- Provide administrative support to the research team and for research trials, studies and/or projects
- Document participant visits, interactions, and study progress in accordance with research protocols
- Facilitate communication among team members, external partners, and participants
- Schedule and coordinate team meetings, including preparing agendas and distributing meeting notes
- Instruct patients in research procedures
- Preform administrative duties such as scheduling, appointment coordination, subject phone calls, team coordination, documentation, data organization
- Schedule participant visits, appointments, and study-related travel; ensure timely and accurate processing of participant reimbursements
- Collect, record and analyze patient data in accordance with research protocols
- Organize, maintain, and update study documentation, records, and files
- Assist with preparation of study materials, forms, and reports
- Support compliance with study protocols and institutional requirements
- Assist with participant recruitment, IRB and regulatory submission, and monitoring in clinical trials
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university in a science-related field required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle a high-volume workload
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
- Ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision, prioritize tasks around team goals, and shift priorities as team priorities change
- Ability to interact with associates at all levels of the organization
What Will Make You Special (Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Completion of a clinical research certificate program
- Prior experience in clinical research or healthcare administrative roles
- Prior experience with IRB and regulatory aspects of clinical trials

- The individual filling this role will work in a professional office environment and will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- While performing duties of job there may be exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
Compensation
- Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
