Research Engineer

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Pune is a premier Automotive Research Institute, with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, involved in R&D, Homologation, Testing & Certification, Calibration & Skill Development services to Automotive and Allied industries globally.

We are looking for the following position for our Engineering Design & Simulation (EDS) :

Designation: Project Specific Research Engineer – UAV (Drone) Certification (01 – ARAI Contract)

Location: Bangalore

Work Experience: 6+ Years

The candidate should have completed Bachelors in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering from reputed University with minimum First Class.

Work Experience Min. 6 years of overall experience in mechanical / aerospace industry, out of which min. 2 years of experience in UAV certification / testing related organization

Description of Duties:

1. Responsible for preparation of various documents and operational procedures as required for various clauses of the Certification Scheme for Unmanned Aerial Systems (CSUAS)
2. Responsible for technical evaluation of various CSUAS clauses
3. Support the scheme reviewer in UAV type certification projects, while ensuring full compliance towards various DGCA and QCI mandates
4. Support the team for developing and maintaining ISO 17065 documentation

Required Skills:

1. Preferred knowledge and thorough understanding of CSUAS clauses and ISO/IEC 17025, ISO/IEC 17065 standards
2. Demonstrable experience of preparation of evaluation procedures, periodic review / upgrade of such procedures for various activities involving UAVCC
3. Preferred experience of preparing statement of conformity (SoC) based on CSUAS clause compliance
4. Should have good communication skills to deal with customers for evaluation related discussions. Preferred to be fluent in Kannada, along with English & Hindi.
5. Should have knowledge of MS Office
6. Preferred to be a DGCA certified Remote Pilot for Small Category UAVs

Other Requirements:

1. Working in shifts, if required
2. Good track record, if already employed
3. Travel to different customer locations for UAVCC as well as other ARAI departmental requirements for support, on need basis
