Research Intern, Clinical and Academic Literature

The role

We are looking for an undergraduate student who is curious, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in the intersection of child development and health technology. You will work directly with our founder to build the clinical and academic evidence base that supports Three Little Ducks as a product, a grant applicant, and a health system partner.

What you will do

  • Search and synthesize peer-reviewed literature on developmental delay detection, early intervention outcomes, and pediatric milestone screening tools
  • Pull key statistics and citations to support NIH SBIR grant applications and health system pitch materials
  • Research existing screening tools (ASQ, M-CHAT, Bayley, etc.) and benchmark clinical detection rates in comparable digital health studies
  • Summarize findings in clear, usable formats (annotated bibliographies, literature summaries, one-pagers)
  • Track relevant policy developments, Medicaid managed care initiatives, and federal early childhood programs that could affect our go-to-market

Who we are looking for

  • Undergraduate student in public health, psychology, pre-medicine, pre-PT, biology, or a related field
  • Comfortable navigating PubMed, Google Scholar, and other academic databases
  • Strong written communication skills, able to distill a dense paper into a clear, usable summary
  • Self-directed and reliable working remotely, able to manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Genuine interest in child health, developmental science, or health technology (clinical experience or coursework is a plus, not a requirement)

Three Little Ducks is a pediatric digital health startup building an AI-powered platform that detects developmental delays in babies under three and automatically alerts their pediatrician before the intervention window closes. We were founded by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, won 1st Place at the AWS AI Pitch Competition, and are currently in active MVP development with five pediatric practices committed to our beta launch.
