Research Laboratory Technician III - Bio-Medical Sciences Department

Under general supervision in the Coffin Lab, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility. Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field of Science required
  2+ year's of research lab experience. Experience with cell and molecular techniques including PCR, immunostaining, confocal microscopy.

• Expertise in rodent models for biomedical research strongly preferred.

• Experience managing lab personnel, coordinating chemical waste, ordering, and related lab management duties is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;

• Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook

• Detail oriented

• Analytical skills

• Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
