Through April 2024 - March 2025, the Trust managed and delivered a complex and diverse research portfolio, recruiting 22,275 participants into 1,413 active research studies and 19,437 participants taking part in National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio studies. As a Haematology Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the delivery and coordination of clinical research studies within haematology services. Working closely with consultants, multidisciplinary teams, sponsors, and research organisations, you will ensure studies are conducted safely, ethically, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. We are committed to fostering a compassionate, collaborative, and research-driven working environment where patient care and innovation go hand in hand. Our team values professionalism, integrity, continuous learning, and mutual support, encouraging staff to contribute ideas, develop specialist skills, and deliver the highest standards of clinical research. We believe in empowering our workforce to make a meaningful difference to patients through evidence-based practice, teamwork, and excellence in care.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual who can bring enthusiasm for research, excellent patient-centred care, and strong organisational skills to the role. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and manage competing priorities within a busy clinical research environment. A proactive approach, attention to detail, commitment to high-quality data collection, and a passion for improving patient outcomes through clinical research are essential. Experience in haematology, oncology, or clinical trials would be highly valued, alongside a willingness to continue developing professionally within research practice.
The post holder will be required to work alongside industry partners, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Yorkshire and Humber (Y&H) and colleagues in neighbouring establishments, attending regional and national meetings as required.
