Travel – this position requires travel to tribal communities, government offices, and cultural organizations across various regions. Travel is necessary for data collection and project support. Travel may include overnight stays, extended trips, and travel to remote locations, depending on the specific needs of the project and client.

Job Summary

Researcher I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the development of research design, implementation, and supporting data collection and reporting. This role involves performing basic data analysis, preparing draft reports, and assisting senior Researchers with presentations and technical assistance. The Researcher I will learn and integrate culturally relevant frameworks into evaluation activities to ensure that the methods and findings are appropriate and respectful of the cultural contexts of the communities served.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist in the development of research design and implementation plans under the supervision of senior Researchers
  • Perform research data collection and analysis
  • Support preparation of research reports and presentations
  • Assist in supporting multiple research projects
  • Support the coordination of project activities


Demands/Complexity Researcher I is an entry-level role that requires basic analytical skills and the ability to work closely with senior Researchers. The position involves learning how to develop research study designs, participate in culturally appropriate data collection processes, and perform basic data analysis. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as Researcher I will work with diverse teams and communities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in quantitative research or a related field
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods, including the use of software tools such as Excel, SPSS, or other entry-level software programs for analyzing data
  • Experience working with diverse communities; preference for previous work experience with Native American communities
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment with frequent supervision
  • Willingness to learn and apply cultural competence in a variety of research projects
  • Willingness and ability to travel to tribal communities, government offices, and other relevant locations


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of culturally relevant research studies with guidance from senior staff
  • Support data collection and analysis efforts, ensuring that all processes are culturally appropriate
  • Prepare drafts of reports and presentations, incorporating cultural frameworks as needed
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate cultural competence into all stages of the research process
