The Reservations & Revenue Supervisor plays a critical role in maximizing a hotel's room revenue and occupancy. This position bridges the gap between daily inventory management and high-level revenue strategy. The ideal candidate balances sharp analytical skills with a strong hospitality background, overseeing the reservations team while executing dynamic pricing strategies based on market demand, competitor analysis, and historical data.
Core Responsibilities
Inventory & Rate Management: Monitor and manage room inventory across all distribution channels, including the Property Management System (PMS), Central Reservation System (CRS), Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), and Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Execute daily rate strategy changes as directed by the Revenue Manager.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor the reservations agents. Ensure the team adheres to company booking policies, telephone etiquette standards, and upselling techniques to maximize conversion rates.
Market Intelligence & Reporting: Actively track competitor pricing, local market events, and occupancy trends. Prepare and analyze essential weekly and monthly performance metrics, utilizing industry-standard intelligence tools to evaluate market share and positioning.
Forecast & Strategy Support: Assist in generating short- and long-term occupancy and revenue forecasts. Actively participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings, providing data-driven insights on pick-up trends, group booking pace, and channel performance.
Channel Distribution: Ensure rate parity across all public digital platforms. Maintain and update hotel content, promotions, and restrictions (such as minimum length of stay) across OTAs and the hotel's direct booking engine.
Group & Wholesaler Coordination: Manage group blocks, cut-off dates, and rooming lists. Work closely with the Sales and Events teams to ensure accurate billing, contract compliance, and seamless execution of group arrivals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
RevPAR Index (RGI): Achieving or exceeding targeted market share growth against the designated competitive set.
Reservation Conversion Rate: Maintaining team booking conversion percentages above established benchmarks.
Direct Booking Growth: Increasing the share of bookings generated through the hotel’s website to reduce third-party commission costs.
Data Accuracy: Ensuring minimal profile duplication and zero overbooking errors within the PMS.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hotel reservations or front office operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior capacity within a 4-star or 5-star property.
Technical Skills: Proficient in major Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera PMS, IDS) and Channel Managers. Strong Excel skills are required for data manipulation and reporting.
Analytical Ability: Comfortable working with numbers, identifying booking patterns, and translating data into actionable pricing recommendations.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration (Sales, Front Desk, Finance) and guest interactions.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent industry experience will be strongly considered.
