Reserve Firefighter

JOB
Under the direction of an assigned Fire Captain, performs responsible duties in the suppression of fires; maintains fire department equipment, apparatuses and facilities; provides emergency medical care for sick and injured individuals. The Reserve Firefighter class performs routine fire suppression and firehouse maintenance duties at an assigned facility. This class is not a full time class and incumbents are called in to supplement the regular workforce as needed.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
High School Diploma or GED and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. Valid California Class C Driver’s License. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate issued by an EMS authority agency and/or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification within one year of employment.
