Resident Assistant

Mill City, a 93-unit assisted living and memory care community in Faribault, MN, is now hiring Resident Assistants (RAs) for Full-Time, Part-Time, and On-Call positions.

Qualified resident assistants will enjoy working with older adults and possess the ability to multitask and manage their time well, all while demonstrating highest-quality customer service.

Resident Assistant Requirements:

• Must be 18 or older
• High School diploma or GED and/or same or similar previous work experience.
• 1 year experience in an assisted living setting.
• 1 year experience with medication administration.
• PPE is provided and all staff are required to adhere to proper use of PPE.

Resident Assistant Preferences:

• 1 year experience as an RA in assisted living and memory care.
• Experience and interest in caring for residents with behavioral and/or physical health challenges.

Key responsibilities:

• Medication administration
• Provide personal and direct care to residents: assist residents with activities of daily living in alignment with each resident service agreement (including, but not limited to, dressing, showering, grooming, toilet assistance and escorting)
• Assist residents with daily room tidiness and light housekeeping
• Promote independence, not dependence, with residents by offering choices and fostering self-help skills
• Encourage, gather and/ or escort residents to participate in scheduled activity programming
• Carry and utilize a communicator (walkie-talkie) effectively
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other Mill City team members, families, visitors, and leadership staff
• Provide back up to other staff as needed to ensure 24 hours staffing
• Communicate information regarding resident care needs and changes to the team
• Document and report status of residents' wellbeing, changes in resident health status, incident reporting, etc.
• Understand and adhere to the Vulnerable Adult and abuse polices, Resident Bill of Rights, and HIPAA
• Ability to utilize electronic medical software

Wages and benefits:

• Wages commensurate with experience and certification status and range from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
