Join our compassionate team as a Resident Care Aide, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents in a vibrant assisted living or long-term care environment. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote dignity and independence
  • Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support health assessments
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
  • Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition intake
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injuries
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, families, and other caregivers to develop personalized care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs

Requirements

  • Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies
  • Certification in First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or CPR are advantageous
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is beneficial
  • Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes
  • Valid driver’s license for driving responsibilities related to resident outings or appointments is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving and resident support
  • Physical ability to lift or transfer residents using equipment like Hoyer lifts safely
