Resident Engineer - Roads & Bridges

Our client is looking to appoint a Resident Engineer (Roads & Bridges) is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating the execution of road and bridge construction works on site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines. The role includes oversight of drainage and sewer infrastructure as part of the overall project scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities related to roads, bridges, and associated drainage and sewer systems.
• Review and approve construction drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor progress and quality of works; prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Verify measurements and certify contractor payment applications.
• Oversee site inspections for quality assurance and safety compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers and inspectors.
• Review as-built drawings and O&M manuals for completeness and accuracy.
• Participate in project meetings and report on construction progress and issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 15 years of experience in road and bridge projects, including drainage and sewer networks.
• Proven experience in the UAE or GCC region is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, contract administration, and relevant standards (RTA, DM, etc.).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution (preferred).
