Resident Medical Officer (RMO)

Location: MPCT Hospital, Sanpada, Navi Mumbai

Minimum 2 Years Experience required

Job Summary

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing continuous clinical support in wards, ICU and casualty, assisting intensivists, handling consultant rounds, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure effective patient care. The role includes execution of clinical orders, emergency management, and hands-on training of nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Clinical Duties

- Conduct daily rounds in wards, ICU, and casualty independently and with consultants.

- Assess and monitor patient condition, vital signs, and critical parameters regularly.

- Initiate immediate medical interventions in emergencies and escalate to intensivist/consultant as required.

- Manage admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.

- Ensure accurate documentation of clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates.

2. Assist Intensivist

- Support intensivists during rounds, procedures, and emergency interventions.

- Execute instructions related to ventilator management, ABG analysis, medication adjustments, and critical care protocols.

- Assist in stabilization and transfer of critically ill patients.

- Monitor ICU patients and promptly report clinical changes.

3. Ward, ICU & Casualty Management

- Oversee smooth functioning of ward, ICU, and casualty during duty hours.

- Prioritize and triage emergency cases in casualty.

- Ensure timely availability of medicines, equipment, and consumables.

- Support nursing and paramedical staff in continuous patient care and clinical decision-making.

- Coordinate patient movement between ICU, wards, OT, and other units.

4. Consultant Coordination

- Assist consultants during rounds and execute all clinical orders accurately.

- Provide regular updates regarding investigation results, treatment progress, and patient status.

- Arrange referrals, procedures, and follow-ups with relevant specialties.

5. Inter-Department Coordination

Liaise with other departments including:

- Pathology / Laboratory

- Physiotherapy

- OT & Cath Lab

- TPA / Insurance

- Pharmacy and Radiology

To ensure timely results, procedures, and communication.

6. Training & Nursing Support

- Provide hands-on clinical training to nursing staff on procedures, emergency care, and patient safety.

- Monitor adherence to protocols, infection control, and medication administration.

7. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain proper medical records as per hospital policy and regulatory standards.

- Support audits, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

- MBBS / BAMS / BHMS.

- Valid medical council registration.

- Experience in ICU/critical care preferred.
