Position Summary:
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is a junior doctor who provides direct medical care to patients under the supervision of senior physicians and consultants. The RMO is responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring while ensuring safe, high-quality clinical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and examine patients, taking medical histories and performing physical examinations
- Assist in diagnosing illnesses and developing treatment plans under supervision
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as appropriate
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition
- Provide emergency and on-call medical coverage
- Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and clinical meetings
- Adhere to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and safety standards
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS )
- Full or provisional medical registration with relevant medical council
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) preferred
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
