Resident Structural Engineer

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in structural engineering.
• At least 5 years in the UAE.

Position Summary

The resident structural engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring the proper execution of structural remedial works, repair, and strengthening of reinforced concrete structures on-site.

• Supervise daily site activities related to structural repair, rehabilitation, and strengthening of concrete elements.
• Concrete crack repair (epoxy injection, stitching)
• Concrete patch repair and reinstatement
• Structural jacketing (RC jacketing or steel jacketing)
• Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) strengthening
• Structural grouting
• Corrosion protection and cathodic protection systems
• Replacement of deteriorated structural components
• Verify contractor compliance with approved shop drawings, method statements, and material specifications.
• Review and approve Inspection Requests (IRs) and Material Submittals.
• Coordinate with structural design engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of:
• Structural behavior of reinforced concrete
• Concrete deterioration mechanisms
• Repair materials and strengthening systems
• Familiarity with:
• Structural drawings and retrofit design
• Non-destructive testing (NDT)
• Structural monitoring methods
